Pulp Autumn

While awaiting the arrival of PulpFest 2012, there are several regional conventions that will help satisfy your pulp interests. Scattered all over the country, these more intimate gatherings of pulp fans are a great deal of fun and are very deserving of your support.

The Friends of Old Time Radio Convention will be held at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Newark, NJ on October 20th-23rd. If you’re interested in dramatic radio, this will be the last time this long-lived event will convene. It should be quite memorable.

Rich Harvey’s Pulp AdventureCon will take place Saturday, November 5th from 10 AM until 5 PM. This one day show is a very enjoyable event, held once or twice a year at the Ramada Bordentown, just off Exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike.

On November 12th, one week after Pulp AdventureCon, Ray Walsh will be holding the 40th Classicon at the University Quality Inn in Lansing, Michigan. It is one of the longest running pulp and paperback gatherings in the country.

For fans in the Southwest, Doc Con 2011 will be held in Phoenix, Arizona on November 11th - 12th. Enthusiasts from all around the country come to this convention for a weekend of events, discussions and camaraderie centered around Doc Savage.

On the second Saturday of each and every month, the Gotham Pulp Collectors Club meets to talk about pulps and pulp collecting at the Hudson Park Library in Manhattan.

Paper Asylum, a vintage paper and pop culture convention will take place in Erie, Pennsylvania on November 26th and 27th. The show opens at 10 AM on both days and runs until 5 or 6 PM.

And please continue to visit the PulpFest website regularly for exciting news about next year’s convention.
