PulpFest’s New Programming Room Banner

PulpFest Panel BannerThe Hyatt Regency Columbus is a pretty big place. That’s why it’s able to have two conventions taking place at the same time — Matsuricon and PulpFest. To help you find your way around and make sure you’re heading for the right spot, the PulpFest organizing committee asked its designer, William Lampkin, to come up with some banner art that will help us mark our various locations.

You’ll find this striking PANEL banner located outside our programming area on the second floor of the Hyatt Regency Columbus. This is where PulpFest will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of the birth of H. P. Lovecraft, the “Thrilling Group” of pulp magazines, and so much more. So watch for the PulpFest PANEL banner when you’re planning to attend our afternoon programming, beginning at 1 PM on Friday, August 14th, and at 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 15th. The banner will again be flying high on Thursday evening, beginning at 8 PM, and Friday and Saturday evenings, beginning at 7 PM. That’s when our evening programming gets underway. We’ll have appearances by horror and science-fiction writer Chet Williamson, artist Jon Arfstrom, and presentations on The Shadow, Street & Smith comic books, Golden Age heroes such as The Black Terror and The Fighting Yank, panels on the Cthulhu Mythos, WEIRD TALES, and Standard Magazines’ Leo Margulies, and much more. And don’t forget about our auction and movie programming! It’s all at PulpFest 2015.

(The new PulpFest Programming Room banner, designed by William Lampkin — who also edits THE PULPSTER for the convention — features the artwork of Rafael de Soto. It originally ran on the front cover of the January 1934 issue of THE PHANTOM DETECTIVE, published by Standard Magazines.)
