How Taken: Use Proscar as directed by your doctor.

Warnings Precautions: Do not use Proscar if:

If a woman who is pregnant with a male baby absorbs the medicine after oral use or through the skin, it may cause the male baby to be born with abnormalities of the sex organs. If a woman who is pregnant comes into contact with the active ingredient in this tablet, a doctor should be consulted.
• These tablets are coated and will prevent contact with the active ingredient during normal handling, provided that the tablets are not broken or crushed.
• Proscar is not used to treat baldness.
• Proscar can affect a blood test called PSA (prostate-specific antigen) for the screening of prostate cancer. If you have a PSA test done, you should tell your doctor that you are taking Proscar .
• Lab tests may be performed to monitor your progress. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
• Proscar is not recommended for use in children; safety and effectiveness have not been confirmed.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Proscar has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. It is unknown if Proscar is excreted in breast milk. Do not breast-feed while taking Proscar.
