(Frank R. Paul, the “grandfather of science-fiction art,” painted the cover for the program book of the 13th World Science Fiction Convention — Clevention — held on September 2 – 5, 1955 at the Manger Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.  While it’s not Columbus, it’s pretty darn close. Besides, PulpFest 2016 is using Paul’s cover painting for the August 1927 issue of AMAZING STORIES, illustrating the first half of the classic H. G. Wells novel, “The War of the Worlds,” in its promotional efforts for this summer’s convention. So why not use another Paul illustration to promote the Hyatt Regency Columbus, the host hotel of PulpFest 2016, summer’s AMAZING Pulp Con!)
