PulpFest 2018 will be marking its different rooms with the banners pictured above. The SHOP banner will be outside our dealers’ room at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry. You’ll also be able to register at this location. Our AUCTION banner will be located at Mike Chomko’s table. That’s where members — including dealers — can bring materials that they’d like to place in our Friday and Saturday night auctions. The PANELS banner will be outside our programming area at the DoubleTree. The CON SUITE banner will be standing at the entrance to the PulpFest hospitality suite. Find the banners and you’re there.
But that’s not all. With our special programming to celebrate the century mark of Grand Master of Science Fiction Philip José Farmer, we’ll be featuring three additional banners. The first will mark our special gallery showing of original art: “Mark Wheatley Presents The Art of SWORDS AGAINST THE MOON MEN.” There will be another during our afternoon showing of the FarmerCon 100 video presentation, “Memories of Phil.” The third banner will mark the location of our “New Fictioneers” readings. With all that’s happening this year at PulpFest 2018, we’ll be pretty much taking up all of the meeting spaces at the DoubleTree.
And then there’s our main banner, right by our registration desk. That’s the banner sponsored by AbeBooks, welcoming you to PulpFest 2018. Our convention is very proud to that AbeBooks.com has renewed its sponsorship of our convention. Launched in 1996, AbeBooks.com is an online marketplace for books. AbeBooks has a strong focus on rare and collectible books as well as ephemera such as maps, posters, prints and photographs.
Not only is AbeBooks one of our web site sponsors — you’ll find their logo on our home page — they have also asked to sponsor this year’s convention badges, our welcome and hospitality suite banners, and the PulpFest program book. AbeBooks will also be sponsoring our con suite for a night. So the snacks and suds will be on them. You’ll have to bring the pulps and a good sense of humor.
