Our PulpFest 2019 Sponsors

As PulpFest prepares for this summer’s annual pulp con — running from August 15 – 18 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Pittsburgh – Cranberry, we would like to thank our sponsors for their significant contributions.

Our 2019 “Welcome to PulpFest and FarmerCon” banner was sponsored by Meteor House. Many thanks to this fine small publisher for their generous donation. Meteor House will be launching a new collection at this year’s convention, Philip José Farmer’s GREATHEART SILVER AND OTHER PULP HEROES.

Although we’re rightfully proud of our substantial dealers’ room — featuring sixty-six different exhibitors — and our highly regarded programmingPulpFest is first and foremost a gathering where “you get to meet and talk to some of the greatest collectors and dealers.”

You can meet and socialize with these folks in the PulpFest hospitality suite. It will be back at the DoubleTree thanks to the generosity of the following PulpFest 2019 dealers:

We’d also like to thank two organizations for their help to fund the PulpFest website. For pulp enthusiasts pursuing educations, DoMyEssay.net and SmartWritingService are there to help. Take advantage of one of their great options to ease your burden.

Many thanks to all of our sponsors for their generous support of PulpFest. If you or your organization would like to join them as a convention or hospitality suite sponsor, please contact Mike Chomko, the convention’s marketing director, at mike@pulpfest.com.

(Hugo Gernsback announced the formation of “The Science Fiction League” in the April 1934 issue of WONDER STORIES. The League was being organized to “coordinate all who are interested in science fiction, into one comprehensive international group.”  One month later, Gernsback continued, “The (Science Fiction) movement still has not reached the great public, but efforts are made by all Science Fiction enthusiasts to spread its vogue . . . By word of mouth in the school and classroom, by getting new readers to read Science Fiction magazines, by inducing motion picture corporations to run Science Fiction films, by getting newspapers to publish Science Fiction stories, by getting broadcast stations to broadcast Science Fiction . . .”

The goals of The Science Fiction League pretty much mirror those of PulpFest:

“. . . a convention dedicated to the premise that the pulps had a profound effect on popular culture across the globe. . . . It seeks to honor the pulps by drawing attention to the many ways these throwaway magazines have inspired writers, artists, film directors, game designers, and other creators over the years.”

They also mirror the goals of our hospitality suite sponsor, First Fandom Experience:

“Our goal is to bring to life the experience of the pioneering fans who were instrumental in defining, promoting and supporting science fiction in the 1930s and beyond.”

For an opportunity to meet First Fandom Experience and our other fine sponsors, please register for PulpFest by clicking the Register button below our homepage banner. The deadline for advance registrations is Monday, August 12, 2019, at 10 PM eastern time. So what are you waiting for?)
