Presenting Our 2014 Dealers!

Aug 1, 2014 by

PulpFest will have more than fifty dealers and their partners filling well-over one-hundred tables at our 2014 convention. Seven of our dealers will be brand new to PulpFest. We’ll also be hosting a number of dealers returning to the convention after a few years absence. So please give them all a hearty welcome to “Summer’s Great Pulp Con!” We’d like them back again for many conventions to come.

You’ll find a list of all the dealers who will be attending PulpFest 2014 by clicking here. Please pay our dealers’ page a visit to see what our sellers will be offering at this year’s convention. And don’t forget, we’re also planning a great auction for Saturday night featuring seventy-five lots of pulps, twenty-five lots of material from the estate of Weird Tales author Everil Worrell, and other surprises.

The PulpFest 2014 dealers’ room will be open on Thursday night, August 7th, from 6 to 10 PM for early-bird shopping. To reward loyal attendees who help to defray the convention’s costs by staying three nights at our host hotel–the Hyatt Regency in the heart of Columbus–PulpFest is pleased to offer free early-bird privileges. Due to the proximity of our convention, the Hyatt’s online reservation system is now closed, but you may still be able to get a room by calling 1-888-421-1442. Be sure to mention PulpFest when placing your reservation.

For those who will not be staying at the Hyatt Regency, you’ll be able to purchase early-bird privileges for an extra four hours of shopping on Thursday evening by paying a nominal fee of $30. However, please be aware that no advance registrations for PulpFest 2014 will be accepted after Monday, August 4th. Our Paypal page will shut down at 10 PM on that day.

For those who have preregistered, you will be able to pick up your membership material at the entrance to the dealers’ room at the Hyatt Regency Columbus on Thursday evening, August 7th, between 5 and 9 PM, and on Friday morning, August 8th, between 9 and 10 AM. During the rest of the convention, you will be able to pick up your materials at the registration desk starting at 10 AM.

Our dealers’ room will be open to all registered PulpFest 2014 members beginning on Friday, August 8th, at 10 AM. It will remain open until 5 PM on Friday.

Our Saturday dealers’ room hours on August 9th will be from 10 AM until 4:45 PM. We’ll be shutting down fifteen minutes early for people to get ready for our Saturday night group dinner at Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant, just a few minutes walk from the Hyatt Regency Columbus. Unfortunately, we can’t take any more reservations for this event as all seats have been taken.

Sunday’s dealers’ room hours will be limited as many of our dealers will be packing up for their trips home. Limited buying and selling opportunities will be available from 9 AM until 2 PM on Sunday, August 10th. Bargains may be available, but please do not come expecting to find  many sellers who are not occupied with packing their wares as they prepare to depart Columbus.

Dealers will be able to set up their displays for the convention on Thurday afternoon, August 7th, beginning at 4 PM. We will remain open until 11 PM for sellers to complete their preparations. All dealers are expected to be set up by 11 PM on Thursday evening. If you are not able to comply, please discuss your needs with convention chairperson Jack Cullers by emailing him at  or writing him at 1272 Cheatham Way, Bellbrook, OH 45305.

PulpFest 2014 is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best pulp cons of all time. Please join us at the Hyatt Regency located at 350 North High Street, in the heart of the active Arena District, just a few minutes’ walk from the trendy Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio. Come and enjoy “Summer’s Great Pulp Con” from August 7th – 10th. We’ll be waiting for you!

Dealers Tables Are Going Fast!

Jun 24, 2014 by

With only six weeks remaining before the 2014 PulpFest begins, convention chairman Jack Cullers reports that most available exhibit space has already been booked, and that dealers who have not yet registered for the convention should reserve their tables immediately lest they risk being shut out.

Although our huckster room at the Hyatt is quite spacious–almost 16,000 square feet–given the many dealers who have found PulpFest to be a great venue to sell their wares, the space fills up fast.  This is especially true given our generous offer for dealers who stay at the Hyatt Regency Columbus during the convention. They receive one free table for every two that they rent. So our remaining space is shrinking fast.  Wall tables are almost all gone. As of this writing we can still accommodate more exhibitors, but the time to book is now!

Although the focus of PulpFest 2014 will be pulp magazines and related materials, vintage paperbacks, digests, men’s adventure and true crime magazines, first edition hardcovers, science-fiction, detective, Western, and other genre books and magazines, series books, dime novels, original art, Big Little Books, B-movies and serials and related collectibles, old-time-radio shows, and Golden and Silver Age comic books can also be sold.

Dealers interested in selling at PulpFest 2014 should get in touch with Jack as soon as possible. You can reach him via email by writing to or by regular mail at 1272 Cheatham Way, Bellbrook, OH 45305. Please visit our registration page and take advantage of our downloadable registration form and, if you like, our Paypal Order page to reserve your table space today! Please remember to ask for your free table if you will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Columbus and will be renting two or more tables.

PulpFest 2014 will have over 100 six-foot tables in its 15,800 square-foot dealers’ room. Wall tables will cost $80 and island tables will be $70. Dealers will also be required to purchase regular three-day memberships for themselves and for any helpers accompanying them to PulpFest. For those dealers who will be staying at the Hyatt Regency ColumbusPulpFest is pleased to offer a third table free for every two tables that they rent, a tremendous savings. That’s buy two and get one free to thank such dealers for helping to defray the convention’s substantial costs by staying at the host hotel.

Our dealers’ room will be open at 10 AM on Friday, August 8th, and remain open until 5 PM. We’ll also have hours on Saturday and Sunday, August 9th & 10th. Please visit our convention hours page for more details. And don’t forget about our early-bird hours on Thursday evening, August 7th, from 6 PM to 10 PM, when dedicated fans of  pulp and genre fiction will enjoy an extra four hours of shopping.
